Lache Cercel

Lache Cercel is a violinist and composer virtuoso of Romanian folk music. His range of performance encompasses the symphonic, the rich heritage of traditional Romanian music laced with European Jazz and American stylings.  The Romanian-born musician is well known for his clear tones, impeccable timing and decorative style on the violin. He brings a type of richness and understanding to music rarely heard in the world today. Cercel won this year’s Golden Globe Award for his piece “A Cry for Roma” in the movie “Suspino.” He recently released his second CD, “The Cercel Ensemble,” and finished the movie “Latin Quarter.” He is currently working on two more movies.   He has won many awards and has performed all over Europe and North America, receiving standing ovations wherever he plays.
