Born in Ontario and raised in Saskatchewan and Manitoba, Ellie was a brownie, had a paper route, and used to iron her money. As an adult she migrated to Vancouver in the hopes of finding a hill. After training at the Vancouver Playhouse Acting School she embarked on years of theatre, particularly with The Vancouver TheatreSports League, writing and performing as one of their top players. Then TV came a callin’. After countless, ‘they went that way’ roles on locally shot shows, Ellie finally got a big break playing ‘Morticia’ on ‘The New Addams Family.’ Since then she works continuously and has been nominated for two Gemini Awards and four Leo Awards – garnering one for the New Addams Family. This past year she had recurring roles on “Stargate Atlantis”, “Zixx”, “Terminal City” and “The L Word,” and most recently worked with Kim Basinger on “The Mermaid’s Chair,” and in the Anne Wheeler Movie of the week “The Competition.” A past winner of the Montreal “Just For Laughs” Improv Tournament and CBC’s “Improv Comedy Games,” Ellie continues to do stand up and improv because it feels like a social life!
