Our Mission

The Shooting Stars Foundation produces unique special events with passion, integrity and innovation to raise money for people living with HIV/AIDS.

Our Success

We have built an ever-growing family of local, national and international artists and celebrities to be a part of a variety of theatrical and creative fundraising extravaganzas that are both innovative and beneficial for everyone involved.  The artists acquire added exposure and networking opportunities, the foundation’s charities receive desperately needed funds, the sponsors garner massive media and community visibility and our audiences enjoy professionally produced stellar events that entertain in a myriad of ways.

a fabulous time for a noble cause!

From its start in 1985, “Starry Night” dazzled audiences with the best of Canadian and International talent, earning it a reputation as Western Canada’s finest and most successful theatrical and musical fundraising event.  In 1995, the foundation was expanded and incorporated to include community and corporate partnerships to create new unique fundraising events.  In addition to what is now known as “Vancity’s Starry Night”, we present “Motown Meltdown” (rockers, jazzers, folkies, soulsters and popsters do motown) “Fit For a Queen” (camping and vamping by world-class drag divas), "Coast Capital Jazzilla" (a Monster Jazz Event), “GAMBADO!” – Dinner & Auction (an evening of fashion, food, fun, frenzy and frivolity) and “Undercover” (a most bang for your buck wine tasting).

Our Beneficiaries

Our grants support community based organizations providing supplemental health care, food and shelter to persons living with HIV/AIDS. The Foundation Board oversees the receipt and distribution of funds from our events to frontline HIV/AIDS organizations.
